when i try 2 play half life 2

You can't expect to get any help on this issue as piracy is involved which is strictly against the forum rules. Nobody wants to get banned. I suggest you buy the original game. From what I have heard about Half-Life 2, it is totally worth it.

not exactly. you just have to log in to Steam with your account.

btw, i finished HL2 months back! way back in november or december '04. awesome gameplay, lame story.

5 CDs.
And no nyou dont need to register every time.
Just register and update game. Then you can start steam in offline mode.
It needs internet connection only once a month after that.
