Default EA Plans Burnout Legends for PSP

Quote:

Electronic Arts has revealed its plans to launch Burnout Legends for the Sony PSP handheld entertainment system in September. The game aims to provide on-the-go car racing game enthusiasts with the game's original experience.

Burnout Legends for the PSP will be similar to the original game and will have features like the trade-mark speed, destruction, gameplay, refinements, connectivity and several new PSP-only features.

The game will include eight gameplay modes, including crash, road rage and pursuit. It will also feature a GameShare option that will allow players to wirelessly share a demo level of the game with friends.

The game delivers updated versions of explosive moments from Burnout, Burnout 2 - Point of Impact and Burnout 3 - Takedown, with new gameplay, cars and surprises.

"Burnout Legends is the perfect quick gaming fix for the PSP," said Alex Ward, creative director, Criterion Games. "As anyone who's played Burnout can tell you, a quick 30 second crash junction can be just as satisfying as a two-hour multiplayer session - and that's the hallmark of a perfect PSP game."

EA will debut Burnout Legends at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles in May 2005.

After the significant success of the Burnout 3, the company also plans to release Burnout 4 - Revenge, for the PS2 in September.

One more nail in the coffin for Nintendo's DS.

Forget DS, I don't understand that if they are so willing to put it on all the consoles, why are they shying away from putting it on the PC? I will be willing to do anything to have it on my PC.

Exactly, its not half as complicated as NFSU2 and it would actually be just as engaging on the PC, even if it would be best on a console. I wonder why they are ignoring the huge PC market and targeting the games exclusively at the consoles.

And coming to the problem with Nintendo, the company's chairman has clearly mentioned that their consoles are geared towards wholesome family entertainment and the GameCube is still considered the Number One family console. Which is why they make do with lesser power hardware than their competitors. Nintendo is looking at being a pure console for the younger generation, without realising how much this is costing them. Heck, they're even planning rolling out the DS as a PDA.

Yeah I would love Burnout hitting the PC!!! It's such a fun game. And by the way, in Japan, the DS is outselling the PSP. So no nails in the coffin for the DS In fact the PSP is plagued by several problems and Sony might have rushed it into the market.
