You mean to say running games at the highest possible resolution with all eye candy turned on, right?
Well, it's simple. Games look much better. The textures look better, the environments are much more detailed. The graphics look the way they were meant to look by the developers.

Resolution!!! Man that is one thing which affects the frame rates a lot. The higher the resolution the lower the frame rates. But then the higher the resolution the games look different, better, and as Nemesis said the detailing is better. The pixel boxes you see sometimes on low resolution do not appear on high resolutions.

The Game at higher Resolutions churn the real life out of the Graphic cards and puts them to the real test.

The game Looks Much More Detailed and more polished. If you can notice the Jagged edges in a Game then thats the lack of an efficient detailing.....Hey wait not on the game's part but the Graphic card side may be.So what do we do Just Turn on the Anti-Aliasing (AA) in the graphic card settings and say Bye-Bye to those Jagged edges(But this Is more related to the Eye candy Option of a game). If you are a dam hardcore gamer and Spread your eyes out wide open to notice every detail of the game then you'll definetly notice the difference when the game is turned up to high resolutions

More resolution means more clear picture. and in strategy type games (Age of Empires) u can see more in one screen. Got it?

Errr....Higher Resolution usually means a lower frame rate. The res goes up at the cost of frame rate. Of course, the difference will be small if you have a superfast system with SLI

Maybe he should have put it this way...
Higher Resolutions + Faster Frame rates = More Thrill and Fun

However in reality...
Higher Resolutions = Lower Frame Rates = Less Thrill and Fun

But if you have the moolah...
Great Graphics Card = High Resolutions and Great Frame Rates = Much More Thrill and Fun!!!
