i have a G1 logitech optical mouse, its good for gamming.
laser mouse are very good for gamming i guesss. as long as you buy a proper one. there are iBall one's in the market for as cheap as Rs800. and as for my dealer its not that great. he asked me to go for a higher model in logetich or Razer.

budget of 500 bucks cant get u an awesome gaming mouse...i have a genius laser gaming mouse with qck steel mouse pad...very good 4 gaming...but not a big advantage...for 500 u can buy a decent optical or laser mouse...the mouse only helps if u urself are skilled...if ur new to gaming then play wid a cheap mouse to increase ur skill and ten move to a good gaming one...

@ankushkool
none other than da gud old MX 518 for 1.4k

And iball laser precise for 700 is a very gud one for da price. Its tracking is flawless and comfortable too But its very sensitive[as other lasers are], so will take some time to get used to. And do get a cloth surface pads for gud glide feel.

But iball laser speedster doesnt look impressive. Only gud about it is da laser sensor @ 1600 cpi. Its not dat comfortable nd is light weight.

But before goin for a laser, just make sure that ur monotor has high resolution, at least 1280*1024. Its very difficult to work with 1600 cpi/dpi on lower resulutions even at lowest mouse sensitivity in windows option.

I heard that iBall has an offer to exchange its old iBall Optical Mouse for a lazer mouse for Rs. 200 or 400. Is it worth it ?

@amitash is correct, only if you are a good gammer or if you work on softwares like maya or 3DMax you will need a high pression mouse.

as i said i have GI Logitich mouse+keyboard for Rs1400.
if thats not an option then go for any logitech mouse they are nice and fast.

I have an iBall lazer precise mouse. Well, it's great to hold and very comfortable. But it has been a bit problematic ever since I bought it. The pointer shakes like crazy even when I am not holding the mouse. Already got it replaced for this reason once but again having this problem.

@baccilus
its coz of the surface. As i mentioned earlier, its highly sensitive to surface.
U need a quality surface for pointer to stop jerking. And its much better than optical if used with proper surface.
Al least get some cloth surface pads.

@codename_romeo
the lowest logitech laser is G1. Its nothing but a 2000dpi laser sensor attached to a simple mouse nd just feet is upgraded. But even that comes at some 900 bucks. It dun have macros/side buttons or resolution changer.

A laser mouse w/o resolution changer or macros are total waste. So what u think is at least:
Genius ergo 125+ steel mini quich for 1.6k is a very gud choice. ergo 125 has almost similar performance nd better comfort than even G5, but no weight adjustments.

Can u say ur max budget?
then u can get lots of suggestions in here. And also do consider gud pad if u go for any laser.

gr8, then somehow extent 100 bucks more nd get the whole gr8 Logitech MX 518.
its not laser, though it has 1800dpi high precision optical engine which is more precise than first generation laser sensors like da 1600 cpi[counts per inch] ones like iballs nd Razer diamondback[haf optical].

MX 518 is even better than G5, for many gamerz and it has got:
1800dpi sensor
two side buttons/macros
on the fly resolution changer with + nd -
onr menu xtra button on centre
upgraded tuflon feets
gr8 comfort
no standby mode
