Game tester job details wanted !!

I am working in a IT giant since 8 months and I want to know about Game testers ! Whats their scope and all their job profile !
Plz tell in detail

Hi,

I work in a Software Testing company and few months back we (the company) had a Game to test.

The testing team was on the same floor, so had some interaction with them.

They check for bugs (very obvious) and various features of the game like save/load funtions, key mappings and other aspects. For example, if say game is in ver. 1.0 stage and a patch is applied which upgrades it to ver 1.01, will the old saves work?

The team use to go to every nook and cranny of the game (it was a RPG) and see how the engine handles it. Pretty interesting stuff!

Regarding scope, I too don't know much. But testing the console games must be interesting.How about becoming the PS3 Tester!
