screen freezes in the middle of the game

i have a nvidia 6600 graphics card and i updated my system with the latest nvidia drivers and then i installed age of empires ....i have played this game on my system perfectly before..........but now it is suddenly hanging in the middle of the game so i updated the game to its latest by patching..... still the problem was there
now i tried the game company of heroes.....in this also the screen freezes in the mddle of game........and i have even played this on my pc before ......and nothing is working not even the ctrl alt del ...i hv to restart my system....please help me

1.may b ur GPU has some issues. try other games and check.
2.did u overclock it?

the question itself has answer, remove latest drivers & install previous ones.

ok i will try that and reply.....but some newer games were asking me to update my nvidia drivers so i updated them
