Damn steam Iam not able to play Lost Planet

I got the game Lost planet free with my graphics card.But when i try to install it it first installs a crap called steam which says that it enables me to play online.Aftr that it downloads huge chunks from the internet.After that the actual installation of the game starts and when i try to open the game after installation it says steam is connecting and downloads like anything from the net and says that he game will start in 1hour 58 minutes!
I have a limited broadband connection and cant afford the downlaod each time the game starts.
Is there any way to get around this?

As u haf the original one, i think using a no-CD/DVD patch is no offense.
Get the no CD/DVD patch and everythin will be fine.

Before suggesting a NO DVD patch/crack do remember that Steam is very stringent in terms of detecting Pirated or modified steam content on one's HDD.If you ever happen to register an a/c with steam later on & still have that cracked version & if steam traces it then your a/c would be banned completely.Then there is no possible way to register again.Atleast that's what I have heard from my friends who have apparently bought their games over steam.So be very careful.You'll have to be very patient with all this steam update & installation process.

I installed the game and used the crack from piratebay.Even that doesnt work.

oo i know had the same problem, in steam right click lost planet and click properties. in update , click do not automatically update this game. just completely update teh game once and set this option. then u will never have to worry.
