It takes atleast 15-30MB (or 40-50MB for CS:S) per hour.
The Latencies are high in already (50-100ms if you connect directly), If you go through proxy, it'll be nearly impossible to play. IGL Servers have VERY high latencies for BSNL People, V-Street/Fragshack/GG-Client servers have quite good (50-90ms) latency. You better get 256 Unlimited Connection if you play multiplayer a lot!

agreed with the above suggestion.
disabling vertical sync makes the game really smooth. and also 100 fps is must have in CS 1.6 as the lower is fps, more lagging and you will see the effect quite clearly while u go autofire and the crosshair really refuses to reduce towards the original size once it gets big.

no no you are wrong.. FPS really matters for fluid game play fps is not just affected by graphics alone.. the net settings in CS also affects fps in a big way.. like 'rate', 'cl_updaterate' etc it varies for different servers.. v-street servers have them in their welcome page.. and for others just experiment to see wat works fps of 25 is just fine for TV watching
