this frm CHIP , sept issue , ' Let The Games Begin ' .
has info on installing nvidia n ati drivers , Quake II , Quake III Arena , UT 2004 , CS , NFSU , n other games which dont have installers .

herez vot it says 4 UT 2004 -

UT2003 onwards , the linux installer was already bundled with the box version of the game . The compressed shell script was made by Epic Games itself n put on the 3rd CD . Lets take a lok at UT 2004 n how it can b installed on linux .
The retail version of UT 2004 comes in 6 CDs apart frm the manual n the atari stickers . Installation in Linux was fairly simple n easy . U will have 2 mount n un-mount all 6 CDs however . To install , follow the following steps :

Open 2 terminal windows n make sure u r logged in as root .
Mount CD1 :
mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom
In the other terminal , copy the installer script so that u canmount the installer CD .
cp /mntcdrom/linux-installer.sh
Start the installer by running the script :
./linux-installer.sh
Use the root window to unmount :
/mnt/cdrom and mount other CDs

U can also use the KDE automounter instead of havin 2 manually mount n un-mount . The graphic installer is fairly similar 2 the windows one and it also creates a link on the desktop . Remember that u will need almost 5 n a half GB of disk space2 install and atleast 384 MB RAM in ur Linux box 2 have reasonable performance . If ur the adventurous kind , then u can add some more performance by recompiling 2 packages : SDL (http://www.libsdl.org/) n OpenAL ( http://www.openal.org/) , and copying to the ut2004/System subdirectory

----------------------------------------

there u go
