gaming on laptop

Hey guys my dad will be receiving a 50k laptop which would be vista based that implies it would have 1 gb ram.So can i play games like fear,doom3?thanks.

Does it have a dedicated graphics card..?? Just having a 1GB RAM isn't sufficient to play a game..

If you want to game make sure you can install xp on it. Many vista laptops these days don't have drivers for xp.

From my personal experience. After playing for 2 years on a laptop with good graphics card, it will be running at 1/4th the original framerate
