Doom 3 is doomed!!

I have a weird problem crawling from my PC when tries to play DOOM 3. At first it stops to play the opening video and it repeats innumerable times. When I press Esc the picture of planet mars appears and when I click on the new game and select the difficulty level, then it says loading and after that the main menu reappears. It is happening every time I start the game. What do I need to do??

Where did you get the game from?

My config is P4 1.8 (overclocked to 2.0), 1GB RAM, 845 MBoard, nVidia 5200 graphics card (overclocked)

is the game copy original!if yes then try these.

1-get the latest audio and video drivers
2-patch the game
3-update windows

Some games are sensitive to overclocking...
Doom3 may be sensitive to over-clocking......try to set the values of the ovrclked components to factory default & then run the game
