Cool Vista's Game Explorer.

one of the most stunning changes in vista is targetted at gamers. with its new directx graphics technology, the level of graphics being deliverd is astounding ! the texturing and the shading technology is just too good !

from the start menu click on the GAMES folder and u get a cool new gaming interface called as the 'gaming explorer' ! all games have been put together here in one place. apart from the familiar titles like solitaire, minesweeper, etc i cud also see some like insaniquariun, crystal maze, family feud, etc.

Right-click a game's icon and u get easy access to a menu of play tasks (which can be customized by the game developer for each game) and any online options, such as linking to the game's website.

at the bottom of the window u get all the details of the game like when made, when played, publisher, etc.

in the right pane, u game requirements and the systems ratings. this is really useful info which tells u instantly how well the game can b played on ur system.

on the top, apart from other buttons, is instant acess to 'parental controls' here one can determine how long and when all and which particular game/s users/kids can play.

using the Games Explorer command bar, you can easily access any game-related settings for your software or hardware

more about the Games Explorer here.

You can have your old games displayed in the Games Explorer too!!
For one, Games Explorer updates its database of games, i dont know its effect, but it is supposed to do so.
Also, you can simply drag the executable of any game to add a shortcut for that executable to be displayed in the Games Explorer.

^ Click Start, type regedit.exe and press ENTER

navigate to the following key: (or do a 'find')

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\lnkfile

in d right-pane, create a String value (REG_SZ) named IsShortcut
close regedit and restart vista.

or get and apply a reg fix from here.
