Is my PC good enough for gaming?

See I am not a hardcore gamer and just wantu play games smoothly..............


So my config is

1> Intel Pentium D915 (2.8 Ghz 2x2 mb L2 cache)
2> Intel 102G mobo with ATI radeon 300 or something like that
3> 512 mb DDR2(will make it 1 Gb in few days)

please tell me whether i will be able to play most games smoothly or not?

yes almost all the games will run on ur pc at low to medium resolution

try gettin a good gpu that will do the trick

What paul said is absolutely correct...however I suggest u buy a Nvidia7300LE...costs Rs.3000 instead of upgrading to 1gb ram...unless u need the ram for a specific purpose...additional 512mb ram will cost approx 3000 & so will XFX7300LE gfx card...so choose according to ur need since both cost aprox same

Additional RAM comes into play when you are doing Multi-tasking. Example- you are ripping a video in a Video converter, Performing photo album generation and simultaneously playing music via WMP..etc. In such case RAM plays a major role along with CPU. Graphics Card is plays its major role while gaming.

So choice is yours, More gaming===> Go for better Graphics Card
More Multi-tasking===> Go for RAM upgradation.

Yes at low settings...will be painful though...it will take away the pleasure of the graphics in NFS Carbon...you have to paly it with a graphics card believe it...you need a graphics card if you want to get the best out the game.

nishant i hate to say but without a graphic even the best of PC cant handle todays game. my config is almost same as yours. and without a gfx games run prett bad
