Cricket 2005 shot selection

hi,

How do i select shots in crick 2k5?

Whenever i press 2 arrow keys at a time (long with 's' or 'w') the computer says that i made no shot selection...

What can i do?????

I am not that much into the game, but i have to find out the answer for my friend...
