India needs to do a lot to gain some attention of the people of the world. Though there are some Game developers in India, such as Paradox studios who make Games for mobiles and other platforms.

Overall, India needs a lot to do, yet progressing slowly. Hence, I cant say anything for the moment>

India stands no where right now in the gaming scene , the projects like ashoka for xbox, that too in collaboration with some english company are still in development . They are still developing and the world has moved to nexgen of gaming. I dont know who will play their old game as ppl are moving to the new consoles and new engines , the competition is too much , Graphics and the consoole generation doesn't matter if gameplay is good. but sadly Ashoka game fails in this too. i have seen the gameplay video of that game , character animation sucks and the looks like it wud have been a good game if it was released 3 years ago. huh
same thing has happened with the game under developement from Indian developers(raptor entertainment), starting from developing their own game engine(xforce now xforce ng) , but no sign of the game coming out soon it was stated to be released in the q4 of 2005,this one is better than ashoka but rare chances that the game will be a commercial success. but i hope their work goes well and the product gets appreciated.

so we are currently nowhere in the gaming scene except developing mobile games. May some thing good happens after the release of the games mentioned above ,so we have to wait till then.

To create world class games one needs vision of future....means one need to think ahead of time .......time when the game will be ready to be in market ...and hence it should be with par or more imroved than other games of that time.......this is what indian developers lag........in work force india is equal with other nation but behind in future vision and use of latest tech to create WORLD CLASS GAMES

Because the value of Rupee in India is lesser than Dollar, we have to pay more than US citizens. That hurts the Indian gaming industry because only people who have money to use instead of water can buy the games. For example if $1=Rs.50, Then a game worth $8 can cost Rs.400.

what we need for gaming to catch on in our country is basically a drastic reduction in price of computer hardware. we need sub Rs 10K PC's (not the one's that are advertised in our national dailies nowadays, those are total craps, piece of junk, good for everything except gaming), and that should include every piece of hardware required for gaming (pretty much a tall order in that price bracket, i must add). but the future looks rosy with INTEL and AMD both announcing chip fabricating plants in INDIA in the next 2-3 years. so the prices of processors should come down as they would be produced "locally". yup, u may just find "ASSEMBLED IN INDIA" tag instead of ASSEMBLED IN MALAYSIA or TAIWAN on an INTEL or an AMD processor when u buy one 2 or 3 years later. hopefully ATI and NVIDIA should follow suit and produce GPU's here which would then bring down the heavenly prices of GFX cards down to earth. so we might just get a complete PC for gaming under 10K's in less than half a decade or so. and since the prices of broadband internet have fallen in the past 4-5 years if this trend continues then the future of online gaming is huge too. let's pray until then

man all the crap in india goes to companies providing pc's in india.
honda is launching civic in india b'coz it knows people, though are economy minded but still hav started to appreciate performance and quality.
gaming scene in india wont pickup until companies like hcl, hp and dell bring gaming pcs into mainstream market.
how will people know about performance pc's unless they are given an option other than cheapest pc's

dig it...
