Default how does one edit .dat files saved by games?


after clearing a zillion levels in this game called Luxor ( try it guys Its highly addictive ) my hard disk suddenly crashed without warning!! The thing id this game stores player data in a .dat file - so can anyone tell me how to edit this file so that I can go straight back to the level I was on. any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanx in adv.

I think this DAT file if u opens in notepad/EditPlus then it will show u binary data..awkwrd data...
i think u shld open it in some hex viewer..
or search for DAT file viewer of games...

btw i found one emulator which play over 3000 games for u as it says here.

Try to open it in hex editior it might help you.
