tats in the descending order of preference... tho i play ut2k4 more than i play any other... FEAR is by far the best i've played... but its single player... so i can rate ut2k4 and fear on the same plane..

i m seeing that lot of gamerz here r playing on PS2.
but guys i think none of them have played GOD OF WAR and RESIDENT EVIL 4 yet. these two are the best game every for PS2. though its a diffcult one. and GOD OF WAR is very diffcult.

Well, since my rig is a bit old, I dont have any opinion about the newer fantastic games.
Here's my list:

Mafia (Best Game you'll ever play, very much like GTA)

Hitman 2( You can't win this game without strategy, unless of cheats ofcourse.)

Call of Duty( Real action-packed game, but not like the "Just-Shoot em up type)

Fifa 2005 ( The Best of Fifa series so far)

WWE Smackdown Here Comes the Pain (PS2)

Counter Strike ( Adds to the fun if you own a fast Internet Connection )

Splinter Cell 1 ( Needs no intro.)

GTA Vice City ( Everybody wants to own it )

Age Of Mythology ( Very similar to AOE, but much better )

Max Payne 1 & 2 ( Very strong Story line supported by some greatest FPS you'll ever experience.

the simpsons a very good game and also very funny

return to the castle wolfenstein without cheats and sound to the max <this game really started the FPS genre>

halflife excellent

half life 2 wow in all

quake2 i really dont like quake3

doom2 coz doom3 is bullshit
7>

metal gear solid it really tests ur patience and a very logical game
8>

burnout: revenge really cool graphics
9>

age of empires series their work should be mentioned atleast
