hi guys
I am a gamer and i have the following configuration:

P4 1.7 Ghz
256MB DDR 266Mhz ram(Hynix 128mbX2 modules)
S3 Savage onboard graphics(32mb)
Jetway P4MFM motherboard with AGP 4X slot(1.5V and 1.6V)
40 Gb HDD
and the rest
I live in Hyderabad
I want to buy a 8X Graphics card(GeForce FX 5200)
My budget is Rs5000(not more than that)
Please help me.
I wanna buy it tomorrow itself.

What exactly do you need help with ? You already know which card you want to buy, you have a fixed budget, and you live in a city where I've heard the computer hardware market is pretty good.

With 5000/- I think you'll be able to do better than an FX5200, maybe an FX5600, though I'm not sure of current prices for this card.

Also pls remember that an 8x card will not run at its full potential in a 4x slot, but it will still be a big jump from your current S3 Savage. Good luck.

fx 5200 will cost u 3.3 k and even less
the point being if u can extend ur budget justtt a lil bit say abt another 1-1.5k u can squeeze in a radeon 9600NP

Wait till the Geforce 6600 hits the indian market. You should get it at the price of an FX 5700.

the 6600 will first hit the indian market as a pci-e card.so no point waiting.agp versions will come later.and also get a GF4Ti,only a DX8.1 card but its much more powerful than the 5600 or 5200.and also AGP8x and AGP4x dont make much of a difference.the 4x bus barely gets saturated.

True, my friends ti4600 whoops my 5600xt in games like doom3 and counter strike source.

go 4 a Geforce FX 5200 of MSI build (with support 4 DOT), will cost u 3.5K or u can get Gainward Gf FX 5700 ultra at 8K

a radeon 9600pro@8.5 k will be a better choice.but ppl please be sensible.this guy wants a card at 5k.so a GeForce4Ti will be a good choice.

hey but a radeon 9600 is available for 6.9k@prime ABGB mumbai(022-23896600).if u dont live in mumbai .then they will courier the card where u want it. a 9600 is a damn good option considering the price and it plays DooM3 and farcry at 1024*768 at high settings

The 6600 is out i think, the price is arnd 10k. AGP mobo owners will have to wait till December i think.
