Quake 4 & CoD2 Dual core/Hyperthreading Patch

ID software has released the latest update 1.05 for Quake 4, enabling SMP support on Quake 4 engine, which is made in partnership with Intel, but also works fine on Dual core Athlon64

Keep in mind that this update will only rivide improvement on Hyoerthreading or Dual core based CPU, single core CPU will not benefit at all even 1%, so all U athlon64 single core users have no use for it

U can download it from Yahoo Games, this is the fastest server i found for this, or go to guake4game.com for additional servers. 12 MB

To enable, install this patch then, either write these lines in your autoexec.cfg file if U got one or write this in the console

seta r_usesmp="1"

I got a hyperthreading based CPU but don't have quake 4 installed, i will post my results soon

Now, following Quake 4, CoD 2 has also got a Patch for SMP, This update is also made in guidence from Intel, but might also work with AMD Dual core.

Keep in mind that these updates include all the previous released updates, & due to this SMP feature are regarded as beta, so if U don't have a compatible CPU, do not download it

My results at 800X600, 2X Antiallising & Game set anistropy

Qukae 4 normal, No patch applied = 28 frames
Quake 4 with 1.05 update but no SMP = 29.4 frames
Quake 4 with SMP enabled = 36 frames
