how to start nfs most wanted?

hey friends i just installed nfs most wanted its of cd ver.i have a problem when i start it it comes out to desktop.i have already installed deamon tools 4 and also insert its .mds format disk in drive but it still cant run.can someone please tell me how to start the game.
please give me detail procedure in steps.
