cant play age of empires

hi guys i installed aoe3 from the digit dvd and when i opened it
my monitor became unstable (out of frequency )
but audio was working
my sys meets the req
( 2.8ghz,768mb ram ,128 mb pci exp 5300 xfx)
what shud i do?

Try updating the graphics card and monitor drivers.

try lowering the resolution to 800x600 with frequency of 85 Hz (if unsuccesful change color to 16 bit)

1024x768 at 60Hz shud also do.

Also make sure that if you are using a video card, you are not using any tool/utility to override refresh rates for the game.
