Try F.E.A.R. if you want an engrossing storyline. And are we talking only about PC Games or are other games included too? I could probably name some console games with good storylines.

I liked Half Life 1 & 2 (Haven't finished 2 though) and Max Payne 1 & 2. Even Hitman silent Assassins & Contracts is fun to play.

So sad that it took 'siriusb' and about 6 posts for someone to realize that the Half Life franchise has a good, nay, a great story line. As far as games go, a good story line is one that can completely engross a player. You feel as though you're the reason why these things are happening. No title does this better than HL. With Aftermath coming up, get ready to get a taste of that story line again... And I know some of you might there might consider the HL2 story line a bit similar to Matrix: Reloaded, where the ultimate point in the end was to setup the story line for the finale, but still, nobody does it better than the guys behind HL.

i liked POPWW, quite absorbing, except for the boss fights.
other than that Tom clancy's splinter cell pandora tomorrow is good too.
