Default Blank Screen In FarCry

Sometime ago, I installed Farcry retail version & installed Farcry v1.3 Patch over it (2 months to be precise).
I have DirectX 9.0c installed.
I was using Nvidia drivers v71.89 then.
The game ran fine. After playing the game, I uninstalled it.
Now I'm using Nvidia drivers v77.72.
Now when I reinstalled the game (without the patch), it didn't start.
I mean, when I start the game, a black screen shows up & then nothing else comes up. When I press a button on keyboard or mouse, it comes back to windows.
I even installed the patch/update but still with same results.
I don't have patch v1.33 cos it's too big & I only have a dial-up connection.
But I don't think I need v1.33 cos the game was running fine previously with/without patch v1.3.
So the problem has to be something else.
So, kindly help.

P.S. I have posted this same thread in Q&A hoping anyone from these two forums maybe able to help me.

check the directx diagnostic tool by entering
"dxdiag" in the run command
and check that in every tab "no problems found" is written i mean check if any problem is found

My problem got fixed.
It was a driver problem.
I had Nvidia driver v 77.72 installed.
I updated them to 78.01 & the game ran fine.
Thanx.
