Buying a modded PS2

Hey there, first post here. Had a ps2 about 5 years ago, and it doesn't seem to work any more. I have had many amazing memories with the console, and with it costing 6000 rupees now, I am looking into buying one, to relive the good old days. I could have it modded for about 1000 more rupees, and was wondering if modding it would let me play ps2 game iso(s) that I have burnt onto a DVD? Also could I burn ps1 iso(s) onto a CD and play them? I had a bunch of games too, but only a few I can actually find, after all these years. So, I don't want to spend too much on games, as I already have in the past. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Yes , you can play those iso after burning on dvd.

And i don't think ps1 game will work on ps2.
