need for speed hot persuit 2

after finishing "nfsu2 + nfsu" i decided to roll back to nfs hp2 to give it another try[; completed previously], then after playing i found that the controls of nfshp2 feels floaty and lazy, so is there any way to make this a little more responsive by doing some thing to the file of that game?
