Default Software to log FPS, temperature

Hi!

Can someone please advise which is the best & light-weight software to track FPS count while paying games?

Also, which software is recommended for checking fan speed & CPU temperatures while doing intensive tasks like video rendering, 3D animation, playing graphic-heavy games?

Use Fraps for FPS and GPUZ for temp.

To measure FPS - you already got the answers.

But you can Even Use MSI After Burner or EVGA Precision ( only nvidia gfx cards ) to monitor FPS/Fan Speed/ GPU Temp while playing a game.

To monitor CPu temp and Fan Speed ( it can even monitor GPU temp and Fan Speed too ) use HWmonitor - Highly recommended by me

So, as I understand, I shall have to keep these software running while playing games. Will that not affect gaming performance?

Also, will GPUZ create a log of temp. readings? Because, once I check GPUZ after I quit the game, the temp. will drop and I won't get accurate reading, will I?

Sorry, if I am sounding like a complete bozo

I guess if you keep the tab open in which it logs the temp. It will keep the log.
Also you can set it to just get the max temp and you'll get the reading about the max temp achieved by your Card while playing the game.

GPU-Z logs to a plain text file.

IN sensors tab, check 'Log to file' option. It will ask for the location for the log file to be saved. And you are good to go . IN the location you have selected a plain file with the name of 'GPU-Z Sensor logs' will be created. It will contain all temp and load data.
