Here are the Steps
To qualify and get your Mass Effect 2 PC download code, please follow these steps before April 30, 2011 at 11:59pm PDT:

1. Purchase your copy of Dragon Age II (if you do not already own one).
2. Activate the Online Pass content that came with your copy of Dragon Age II (The Black Emporium).
3. Start the game and log in using your EA Account or create a new EA Account.
4. Visit Choose Language | BioWare Social Network and log in with that EA Account.
5. Enter your Online Pass code and click "Submit". You will then be provided the code for Mass Effect 2.

Open the EA Download Manager and enter the code to commence download (if you don't have the EA Download Manager installed, it can be found here: EA Download Manager - EA Games)

NOTE: Please allow 72 hours between time of online pass activation and submitting your online pass code on Choose Language | BioWare Social Network.

Okay so I purchased the game DO 2 and now when I enter online pass code it says that they are not able to verify it, it may take 72 hours

No. Its only available through EA store or EA download manager no steam or third party vendors.

Check their forums and try the hell out of this game to get ME2. Its a damn good offer and then I guess you'll buy Shadow broker DLC because you just saved your money using this offer. LOL.


Alright Faun found your answer. You have to wait for 72 hrs and if its not activated then contact their Customer service and hey make a Bioware account because one of their link I followed required to login.
Have you got Black Emporium with your copy because you have to activate that to get pass code and please for god sake tell me that you have purchased it through EA store and not Steam because as I posted earlier its available through EA store only.

You can login using your EA account. You can purchase it from steam too but ME2 will be available as download on EA store only.

I got it from EA store @999

To be precise a DLC which comes with DA2 and is only activated after you register you game online through EA.

I told ya its a DLC which is activated only after you register your game for this you have to install this game and register this you know like cerebreus Network in ME2.

A word of advice Faun. Don't download it from EA download manager. Its in a total mess right now. I had my worst experience with EA download manager when I was downloading my Crysis 2 LTD edition from it. For many hours, EA download manager would keep downloading something but the file size on the hard disk would never increase. I am not the only person who faced this issue. For a download which usually takes 24 hours to complete, this **** took more than 48 hours. Infact, after 75% of the download, I completed the remaining download using the clonedvd torrent.

So in short, download the razer rip & then put your original EA code. Thats what I had to resort to.

If you have the actual key & not some redeem code, then yes you can ditch it but you may need to purchase any other game in the future so then you will need it. So keep it but don't use it. Your game will need that actual key only.

regarding the EA download manager, only crysis 2 seems to be problematic. I also downloaded the ISO from torrents. but shift 2 and other games downloaded fine in EA DM.

btw don't forget to install the latest version from EA website, EADM does not update itself automatically.

Back home, installing DA 2. Never gonna install from EA download manager, halfway it went corrupt.

Okay, here are the steps for this offer:

*Remember to create account in EA with the same email id which you will use in bioware website. Or better create account in EA store and then use same Username and Password to login to bioware website.

1. Go to the ME 2 offer page
Buy Dragon Age 2

2. Register Dragon Age 2 in your bioware website profile.

3. Download the game using EA download manager (not recommended as I lost all data midway), better get iso from other sources.

4. Install the game. Use the Dragon Age(TM) II key provided in your email.

5. Start the game, go to Downloadable Content (be sure to login in game before)

6. Click on Available Content, it will open up the link in your web browser.

7. Click on buy "The Black Emporium"


8. Click on Redeem Promo Code button


9. Enter the Promo Code,
Use the Dragon Age II online pass for this, look into you email



10. done


11. Now you will be shown the download key for ME 2.



12. Use the EA download manager to download using the download key or better get the iso from other sources.

It's not as convenient as torrent. The problem is that it said invalid cache directory on next start and I lost all data halfway. There are many other bugs.

LOL just bcos he said that the EA download manager has problem with Crysis 2 doesn't means your ME2 download will go smoothly. Check EA download manager forums & you will see what I am talking about. Don't hesitate. You have the key so just fire up your torrent.
