CS 1.6 freezes on Windows 7 x64

I play CS 1.6 online , all my friends use a specific version [ digitalzone if anyone understands ]

I recently bought new PC , and installed that same version , but it freezes when the map loads [ Just when the start menu of the map is shown ]

Anyone faced this problem ?? Is there any solution , so that i can play online ??? I cannot install new versions because otherwise this message is shown when i try to connect with friends

or something like different version

I tried Compatibility Mode but it didn't work

That freezing thing did happen to me. I uninstalled it and re-installed it and it vanished. And you or the host or both of you might have their Firewall ON which is causing "Local Machines restricted to LAN Class C" error. Their error is caused due to improper connectivity.
