Kinect sex game in works

"I guess it was only a matter of time." That's how adult-game maker ThriXXX sums up its latest project, a sex game which uses the Xbox 360's motion-sensing camera to let users fondle virtual females.



Viewable via a risqué YouTube video, a demonstration of the game--still in its early stages--shows a user controlling the on-screen action with just his hand. The control scheme was set up by attaching a Kinect to a Windows 7 computer with an open-source Kinect driver installed. Similar drivers have been used for more scientific pursuits using Kinect.

It is not about sex.. It is about "AO" rating. None of the major console manufacturers(MS, Sony, Nintendo) allow "AO" rated games on their platforms. Because in most of the countries console is part of the family's Living room.

Hmm, so violent games are not AO or Microsoft considers AO only in terms of sexual content and not explicit violence?
I mean Postal III and other excessive violent games have versions for the consoles...

^ its not with Microsoft. It is with PEGI and ESRB.

All the games out there of violence are rated M. To get a AO rating, the game has to be something more. The only mainstream game that got AO rating was Manhunt 2. And it never made its way to consoles. Although a Rated M version was there for PS2, Wii which was stripped from it's Gore elements. And not to mention, GTA san andreas which had love making episodes. All the stores removed the game from their shelves as soon as they came to know about this. Although later, a stripped version was released which made it to go back to shelves with M rating.

It is as simple as that.. Microsoft has no concerns about the game content. But a AO rated game, will result in inferior sales. So, to keep their good will up, they just don't allow them to be published.

Even today only 21 games are kept under AO rating..

But most of the game critics these days are forcing ESRB and PEGI to give AO rating to games with explicit gore..like L4D2.

And, NO ESRB considers extreme violence and sexual content equally. Its not the amount of gore, it is the level of interaction the game has in creating the gore. Play Manhunt 2. You will understand what I am talking about.
