HEy i extracted AO provided on the July 2005 DVD, but neither the install.exe, not setup.exe work? What do I do?

Might be a windows problem. Try formatting and re-installing windows. If that don't work then might be a hardware problem. AO ain't a great game so u can try ur luck elsewhere. BEST OF LUCK.

may b a prob wit ur dvd.
ne way even after u install it ull have to patch for 6hrs minimum.
and the games not worth the effort. its rather depressing.

Crap™

I extract all the contents. I try install.exe it start ESS Allegro utility setup and it closes after I press next during setup.
So I try Setup but it says to run install.exe. Did digit guys do a screw up by putting some ESS Allegro setup which sounds like a sound card.

what the heck kind of replies were those, man digit reply quality goin down

hey dont blame the game (its all in the game, isnt it)
the game's fairly good but the patching's toooo heavy (not recommd for dial ups)

I found the solution today in some website. After such a long time.

Extract the files from the zip to c:\ao

Then start ms-dos promp by typing "command" + enter in run option in start menu.
type the follow commands

cd c:\ao
setup.exe install
