Xbox 360 price drops go global on Friday, it's official

Xbox 360 price cuts are coming Friday. The entry-level Arcade will remain at $200 while the top end Elite will drop to $300 from $400. The mid-range Pro (reduced to $250 from $300) will be phased out just as soon a they can eliminate stock. As a footnote to the announcement, Microsoft wants to remove all doubt about future project natal compatibility by saying it, "will work with every Xbox 360 sold today and tomorrow." So what's it going to be kids, PS3 Slim or Xbox 360? Blu-ray or Netflix?

Good going by MS after their failure in the previous generation console. But being a fanboy i wish Sony would lead the race. Gaming in 360 rocks thou.

Although I'm still curious to see what's the actual price that MS positions the Elite consoles in India. It dam sure ain't anywhere near 15k ($300) in this country.

I am getting a console on 10th November... having hard time to decide. I think I will get the X360 Jasper version and get it modded. PS3 Slim is a nice deal but cant be modded and thus I cant play pirated games and original games are very expensive plus I have to get them from eBay or something as there are no PS3 games available in my city

sorry..how do you mod xbox360??
by using hard chips or by flashing bios?????????that may void your warranty coz youll hav to remove the seal.
you should post this in the MS official forum.That may bring down the prices hehehe

Elite will be priced around 20k..as far as i know.
Dunno how much will that cost with bundled games.
PS3 would hav been the best buy but there aint more titles to back them and pricey too

Whatever... im trying an upgrade for my pc and planning to get xbox360 elite with that jasper stuff..dunno whether tat will work or not. I also thought of pirating the xbox wen my frendz one crashed.

Actually I alredy have X360 but it's RRODed and as it was hard modded, I cant get it replaced or anything. That's why I am going for a Jasper one.

There is currently no hardware mod available for the 360. The max you can achieve is a firmware flash on the DVD drive to boot back-ups. There are some modders who can remove the warranty sticker carefully & then retain it properly after flashing the drive, thereby retaining your warranty. A lot of people who have modded their consoles on Gaming Indians (now Indian Video Gamer) forums have got it replaced for RRoD. It totally depends on your luck.

^Yeah true... hope my new X360 (if i buy it that is... I might just get a new PC or something but that will be costly... still have decide) dosent get RRODed.
