provided ur monitor supports d required resolution in which d game runs...though its got nothing 2 do with monitor but since u have a very old monitor u mite face problems....but d thing is if ur able to use 800*600 resulution (or 1024*768) with 16 bit or 32 bit col depth and 60+ hz refresh rate then u must not have monitor problems with games....then is dis case d probs with ur on-board graphics card....its not supporting that game...

to check-

right-click go2 properties in ur desktop.....select settings check ur resolution n col. depth then click advanced tab n check the max refresh rate u can use in d monitor tab.....ps-dont select ref rate which is not supported by ur monitor......if u can use 60,75 or 85 hz refresh rate then ur game is not supported by ur video card....u need to buy a gfx...gud luk
cheers...
