Games not working in PC

[WAR2100AD]

Games like Bio-Hazard-4 and FIFA 2008 don't work in my PC.
I get errors like:
"Setup.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
the same files work in my friends' laptops.
please advise.

the following is my PC configuration

AMD Athlon X2 5200+ "2.7GHz Dual core"
Asus M2A-VM HDMI motherboard with HDMI interface card
Kingston 667MHz 2x1GB DIMM RAM(total 2gb)
Seagate ST3500380AS 500GB HDD
320gb seagate External Usb HDD

Update your DirectX. That may help. Plus you didn't mention your GC...

Is it while installing or while playing?

I think the CD could be damaged.
Your System Configuration has nothing to do while installation, it is required during Gameplay.

I think the problem is in the CD or your CD drive.
