Default problems with games in xp

whenever i try to run a newer game in winxp pro, it crashes when a video is starting to play. at first a blue screen comes with lots of text on it and then the pc immediately restarts. this is causing big troubles as i cant play any of the newer games like second sight or san andreas

are you sure you have a licensed version of XP....as these problems are quite common in the pirated one...

Tell the names of the Games. Chances are that u are playing games developed before release of XP in 2002. Contact the developers. They may help.

He did mention being unable to play GTA:SA and Second Sight.

I hope you have been using original games because pirated games with their cracks can lead to serious trobles with the OS. Particularly so with Second Sight as it's a game using Starforce Protection which is very, very hard to crack. Even the original games saddles you with the burden of a very complicated authentication system.

Also check if their is a hardware conflict. Maybe something that you recently installed that might be the cause of the problem.

It would also be helpful if you post the exact error message that you get in the Blue Screen a.k.a. BSOD or Blue Screen Of Death. Then our gurus here can help you pinpoint the exact problem.

Take a backup of the save games folder and then uninstall and reinstall both the drivers and game.

Please check for faulty RAM modules also coz this problem also occured with me even thou i had the latest forceware drivers installed for my nVIDIA Graphics card.

Clean the RAM slot with a soft brush and with the help of a pencil eraser, rub the part of the RAM module(slowly and clean it) wich u insert into the slot and then insert it again.

Also try reinstalling the game (take a back up of all ur saved levels of the game)....

cheers n peace...[/b]
