Default Help needed for gaming in celeron processor

i have 1gb ram in my pc. i need a graphics card for playing the latest releases like NFS undercover, Colin mcrae dirt and othe equivalent games. i have chosen to purchase XFX Nvidea Geforce 9400 GT 512 mb. Will i be able to play these games with my 1.6 GHz celeron processor (even in minimum display settings)? If not should i buy this graphic card? Will it be totally unutilized if i buy it? Please help.

Yes, Even though your GPU will be nice.
WTF ancient CPU? O_o I had that CPU in my Desktop in 1999
But your CPU isn't enough to play HD games. And please also check if there is enough Power abailable from PSU(SMPS), PSU(SMPS) should be 500W at least.
Generally it's safer to use 30% powered SMPS than the power requirement of System.
I strongly recommend you to get a New CPU. AT least C2D T7200.
