Will indian ps2 work in phillipnes

Hey i've got an Indian ps2, bought it 2 years ago. I'm planning to go to manila, phillipenes for a month, Phillipnes uses NTSC. i wanted to know whether my ps2 would work in manila?? plx explain this NTSC and PAL stuff to me because im quiet a roookie in thus stuff. ne help will be appreciated. thnxx

If your PS2 is a modded one, then you won't have any issues with the DVD's being compatible due to region coding (PAL/NTSC/NTSC-US/NTSC-J).

So I would first need to know if the console is modded or not?

yes my ps2 is modded. the dvds im takin r frm India only, not plannin 2 buy ne there. what i acctually meant 2 ask was that it will work on the TV i connect it 2 rite?? it wont make a difference whther PAL or NTSC??

Oh in that case, it will depend on the model of the TV you're plugging it into. If it supports Multi-System then you won't have any issues. But if you're PS2 is a PAL model & the TV accepts only NTSC TV signals then the result might be a black & white picture on your TV.
