EA Guys will be termed as big losers if they really discontinue this .... I agree failures have taken a huge toll on the company but , the solution doesn't lie in the fact that they should hide their face from defeats .

It's about time. NFS Carbon, Pro Street and Undercover have brought this once-great series to a new low. It's better that EA stops milking the 'Need For Speed' name and tarnishing the series' reputation.

Yes. It's good for them to leave it to Sony and Codemasters. GRID, DIRT have established a new leader in racing genre. And don't forget that codemasters now have license to make F1 games from 2009.

Yeah, last three NFSz brought down the glory, Undercover was such a disappointmet. Look at other games present at the time, they offer superb package. But somewhr NFS series lost everything, its all the same, conquer something, either all at once or part by part..

Good news indeed. The last 3 NFS releases sucked big time. DiRT and Burnout is where the action is at.

The only notable releases in the EA franchise were High Stakes, Porsche 2000 & Underground.

it's good decession by EA to discontiue it's NFS series.

The reasons for this I think is more amount of expectations and compition in every platform

if they release it in pc they will compare it with GRID, DiRT

if they release in ps3 they will compare with gran turismo, burnout

if they release in 360 it will be compared with FORZA, PGR series

And with that said, EA Cannada can only make games beating all above only in dreams.

What they have given to the racing world, thru NFS is enough.

Time to take the back seat.

NFSII, Hot Persuit, Porsche Unleashed, Underground, Most Wanted.
My favorites. Played right through all of them. They were challenging, and difficult.
Undercover is friggin easy. Pro-Street was bad, Undercover is worse.
It would make sense for them to stop, but I wish they would go out and give us ONE more good game before they do it.
And I don't think is true. They have already started developing for a late 2009 release according to what I know. The production had definately started, but they may have decided to stop in their tracks after they saw the loss that Undercover was.

I agree. If they stop making it for the PC, then Konami can get licenses to all the leagues. That way, we'll have one helluva soccer game.
And BTW, it's been said that they will stop making FIFA for PC due to all the piracy and stuff. FIFA 09 had copy protection, but we all know how that failed

Nice. Most Wanted was really a great game but afterwards, the series just stumbled down the glory ladder. Its actually good to hear this.

I think this will be a move for the better; with NFS gone, atleast we can hope for EA to pool their resources to bring up a better game.

If they come up with a new concept or a story line I'm sure they will revamp and bring back NFS again. As for now they are all tapped out.

Most Wanted was great....remember all those 20+ police cars chasing you, constant fear of spikes and heartbeat throttling SUVs from front....no matter what, i dont think they can remake it
