Re: [Feedback] Digit March 2008
before i start anything..
*Puts The Flame Suit On*
After recieving Digit (on 10th march 08, yep 10th march!) I went trough pages and i stumbled over the "How To" Article by one "Mr. Rossi Fernandes".
My first thoughts were on the lines of "alright! someone finally dared to write something about FL7!"... and i began going trough the article and a bit later i found out it to be a li'l bit cheesy, but its ok as it gives a birdseye view about the sequencer.
and after a careful observation i found something which made me laugh and think "this writer is looney or the editor must have a vision of 20/200" because they overlooked this:

(excuse my vga cam for the quality of the pic)
the version of FL7 used in the article is a pirated one! the registration entry shows that its registered to "BoOMBoX/TSRh2007"
If IL hears about this article, they might take action.. we cant say anything!
Why does Digit, a preacher of AntiPiracy allow this?
Can someone explain this now
P.S. if you own a monitor, DO NOT under ANY circumstances.. try out the pattern with the same samples as shown in the tutorial.. you'll thank me for warning you

LAST MONTH?!? The DVDs haven't been shiny sides down since.. I lost count! There was an issue in September last year when the sealed package(Subscriber's copy!) didn't contain the DVD/CD/Fast Track. It took a month for a reply and 3 to send it using India Post!
I agreee with that guy saying close down digit! I think the cause of this downfall is the politics(Change of ownership etc.) and the departure of Deepak(the former ed) and perhaps the extreme concentration of the mag on newbies. I still say digit should learn something from SKOAR! The best Damn mag in the universe!©

Re: [Feedback] Digit March 2008
You know, I really haven't ever had a single issue with the DVDs.
But I was sad to see Deepak go. I loved reading his editorials, which were just on a different plane when compared to the current ones, which read like news articles. No offence meant to the current ed of course.
And i really disagree with closing down Digit. That is an absolutely absurd notion. Digit is just going through a rough phase, and will be back soon.

agent 001 does not seem to be working hard at all! You can get the stuff quoted by him at cheaper prices.
I hope that he will give his opinion on mainstream tft display options in the next issue (after doing some homework).

Re: [Feedback] Digit March 2008
I usually trust Digit when it comes to reviews, but this month's review had me completely shocked.
Digit published that the iPod touch had the best overall sound quality, beating even the Cowon's. Almost every major site says that all the iPods have ok-good sound quality, while the Cowon has what is probably the best available.

Re: [Feedback] Digit March 2008
^^^ I agree.
Looks like they've been ipod fans. Even for HDD PMP's. Cowon's and Zen's beat ipod's in every aspect but still ipod got Gold and moreover Zenvision:W's price is quoted as Rs.30,000 and is shown as reason for not getting the prize.
From digit:
The zenvision W occupies the pinnacle of audio tests, an outstanding product, sonidering that the other creative products didn't make such a splash. But the zen viwion W costly, and at Rs.29,999, it's nearly double the price of Apple ipod classic.
huh. are you guys in year 2000 or what?
price of zenvison:W is around Rs.16k as of now and given the wide range of features from 4.3" screen to divx/xvid playback, this is a clear winner.
W should've got gold and cowon should've god silver
Also, for flash based players between 5k and 10k, there is no point in giving ipod "fatty" nano silver when Creative Zen is much much better.
Totally biased review of mp3 players.
eg:
take cowon A3
audio formats supported : mp3, wma, asf, flac, ogg, m4a, mka, ape, wav
video formats supported: avi, wmv, asf, mp4, mkv, ogm, mpeg, vob, dat.
It support VOB. Means you can copy DVD into this player and watch it.
DIdn't you guys notice this?
ipod classic:
video supported: H.264, mov, mp4, MPEG-4. There is a single term for all these. It's called Mpeg-4. huh.
Moreover, apple doesn't give any converters to convert your movies to mp4 etc. we have to download the converter from internet.
Creative's s/w is brilliant as it automatically does the convertion of videos to suit the players display.
zenvision:W
video formats: avi, wmv9, mpeg-1/2, mpeg4, divx, xvid.
Still if you guys think that ipod classic is better only because it is from Apple and that it has god bigger HDD, it will be better if we stop reading your magazine.

But, it is mainly a Gaming Console. You don't see a a Mag putting the PS2 in a roundup of DVD players, do you?
