Scientific linux 5.3 is the latest one and not 5.3. Is this the CD or the DVD ISO?
Knoppix 6.0.1 is here and digit is giving 3.6 on the DVD


The SP1 and SP2 of Office 2000, XP and 2003 are a waste because SP3 includes both of SP1 and SP2. Does anyone still use Office 2000 or XP?

I definitely agree with "Rajivnedungadi" that SP1 and SP2 are a complete waste becoz those updates are always included in SP3.

I thank the digit team for heeding to my request of Eclipse software. I appreciate the inclusion of videos in the DVD issues, this is definitely much better content than providing obsolete english movies that this magazine used to do earlier.

There are really some good rare softwares and some unique linux distros available in this months DVDs and looking forward to digit to continue the same trend in the future too.

hey dude.... sp1 & sp2 must be required to install sp3..(if sp1 & sp2 already not installed) you cant install directly sp3..this is not like win sp.. pl try to learn b4 posting negative words..

I have worked for MS Office support and SP3 can be installed without SP1 or SP2. Please try it out before quoting someone

Okay, Please note that "you" are not able to install SP3 directly. That does not mean that you will have to install SP1 first and then SP2 and the SP3. As per one of the KB Articles I have given above, it clearly states that all previous updates are added in the SP3 and that includes SP1 and SP2, which means that you can install SP3 directly.


Try the following if you have an Office 2003 disc.

1. Download and Install Windows Installer CleanUp Utility from here

After installation, run it and remove office 2003 from the list, this would remove the complete office application.

With the Office 2003 disc, install the application and then try to install the office 2003 SP3 directly and it should work.

Thats true, it would take a lot of time. I am not sure if you are convinced or not about SP3 directly being installed without any previous SPs already installed, thats where we started. For you all 3 SPs on the DVD might be useful but for most of the other people out here, its useless, Digit is just filling up the disc with useless stuff.

Digit has made us April Fool by providing some old and useless stuff on the DVDs.

1. Knoppix 3.6 (2004 Version) - The current version is 6.0.1 released in Feb 09
2. Digit has provided Service Packs for Office 2000, XP and 2003. Digit should know that SP3 includes SP1 and SP2. Also I am not sure if anyone still used Office 2000 or Office XP
3. Scientific Linux 5.2 provided is also an older version, the latest version released is 5.3. Unfortunately Digit has provided the Live CD of the same and not the DVD ISO.
