I would suggest that you extend your budget by few hundreds. For the price you can get Zotac 9600 GT AMP. The AMP version has a better clock speed compared with GT version.

Palit is also a better option. You can go with these cards on 9600 chipset.

Also guys if you find a better option, post them.

Intel Desktop Board DG43NB (5.1 Dolby, supports upto 800 MHz RAM)- 5000
OR
Desktop Board DP45SG - 8000 (supports 1333MHz FSB; you can take full advantage of processors and RAM mentioned below; 7.1 dolby surround)

Intel Q9550 (2.8GHz, 1333MHz, 12MBL2) - 11,500
OR
Q8400(2.6GHz, 1333MHz, 4MBL2) - 8,500

Transcend 2 / 1333GHz (DG43NB Mother board may not support 1333Mhz) - 2500
Seagate SATA 500 GB - 2400
OR
1 TB - 4000
Samsung DVD Writer - 1000
Zebronics / iBall Cabinet with 750W SMPS -2000

Microsoft Multimedia Keyboard and mouse - 600

For monitors please refer Digit August magazine AOC is rated the best. you can get 17" for 5500

Optional
Creative 5.1 speakers - 3,500
OR
7.1 - 6,800

Both motherboards has DVI 1 ports, so a graphics card is not neccessary unless you are a gamer or multimedia craver.

If you are selecting the best config mentioned here, you will end up around 27k

Well you can add Oasis to the list. I always buy from them but it's always better that you get the rates from at least 3 shoppe when you are out for buying something. And I must agree that you wont find any geeks in richy st; and that's the reason we are in digit forum so that we enlighten ourselves.

I have seen vendors going to the next extend saying "Sir atu failure model. so we don't have stock of it." Believe me once a vendor said the same for the intel D945RY mother board i was enquiring.
