Mobo Limit?
Hey guys, I have an ASUSTeK Computer INC. P5G41T-M LX (LGA775) motherboard and my dad said he cant buy me a ram at 1333mhz cause my ram currently 8.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 400MHz (6-6-6-15) is the limit for my mobo ( it cannot run more than 400 mhz)
I think its not like that but I don't want to waste money, so can someone answer my question?
Thanks!

Re: Mobo Limit?
It's running at 800 Mhz.
Software like CPU-Z show 400 Mhz (half). DDR = Double Data Rate.AMD A8-3870K with Radeon HD 6550D | Digilite A55M (Foxconn)

Re: Mobo Limit?
It must be 800 Mhz(never seen a 400 mhz ddr3 module). If your mobo supports upto 800 mhz only, then even if you buy a 1333 mhz module, it will automatically underclock to 800 mhz when used on your mobo.

Re: Mobo Limit?
dude my mobo is also the same and u can run at 1333Mhz only if u 'overclock' it on that mobo otherwise it'll stay in at 800mhz only, not 400mhz .and mobo is limited to 8gb only

Re: Mobo Limit?
Yes, DDR values show half the speed because the technology has two operations per second*. Effectively this means double the speed at the same frequency, an "effective 800MHz".
