MAYA ON AMD 64 Bit??

Hi guys,is AMD 64bit compatible with MAya.I met some guy who bought 3200 and had problem running Maya on it.According to him the menu icons were no appearing and the renderers were not working which is a very serios issue.I was thinking of buying a new AMD based pc.My work mainly revolves around Maya,3D Max and photoshop,so please advice.

its perfectly compatiable with maya. Whatever problems he is having is software issue on his side. he probably did not do clean install of windows and hence facing problems. Masy and 3dsmax works perfectly fine on Athlon 64.

buy 64 bit no problem i am running maya on 64 bit no problems at lll

Absolutely no problem, there should be some problem in his windows installation or something else.

Its the peoples perception about AMD processors,if system hung, incorrect installation etc, the AMD proc is to blame, if it were intel,they would have blamed someone else.
