Did I get u right? 50K just for the processor?
Wow. If u can, would you mind telling us what is your prupose. I would so like to hear it.

AMD Dual-Core Opteron 265 Italy or AMD Athlon 64 FX57 San Diego should be pretty good for your money. Although, I am not sure they are available in india. Wait for someone's reply too.

get a good UPS. One from APC will do. How much u need is upto u. I have a APC 500 which gives me abt 15 mins back up. The main aim is for me to be switch off my system normally. The rest seems fine. I am assuming since you did not mention a monitor that u already have one ? Also go for a higher capacity HDD. You will find it useful. As for RAM go for Corsair. Better performing RAMs. If it is not available then Kingston. Hynix generic RAMs are also good.

Dude, Intel botched their 90nm processors, but AMD didn't. So your 3200+ should run nice and warm than sizzle like the intel.

1. The intel one bests the Amd one in almost all the benchmarks by a large margin. The 3200+ compares well to Intel 2.6GHz. I suggest you go for a faster amd or the 3.2 intel.

2. go for Asus A8N-E if you chose the Amd one and have the money (around 8K).

3. You cannot go for 3400+ if using A8N-E coz 3400+ is socket754.

dude did u take care to read what those reviews says?

have thay compared P4 with AMD Athlon64 conterparts?

All links u gave compares P4 with AMD AthlonXP not Athlon64.

AMD Athlon64 beats P4 in almost every test.

Sorry. My bad, my bad. Thanks for pointing it out politely. I must really take that nap now.

P4 3.2 and A64 3200+ seems to compares well. It even beats p3.4 in some games. If u are using your pc for games, then go for amd by all means. The remaining points remain.

3200+ and 3400+ won't make gr8 difference after 2-3 years, but the graphic card will sure do.

So instead of 3400+, get a higher graphic card, also u can invest in SATA RAID and better PSU from Antec

Price difference between 3200+ and 3500+ is around Rs.4400.
The performance difference is almost as great as the price difference too.
Also, if you are interested in overclocking, a 3500+ cpu allows you to use the multiplier upwards. But a 3200+ will only allow downward multipliers.
Take a look in here:

Go for 3200+ @9000
ASUS SLI mobo @9200
2*512DDR @5000
160 SATA@4200
400WPSU@1500
6600GT128@9500
1000VA ups@3500

I think going for an SLI board is better future proof. SLI board offers unparreled perfomance even if on single card. After 1 or 2 year U can get 2 6800 or even 7800 in SLI nd sell of this 6600GT. Then 6800 would be cheaper enough to get 2 of them.
U can also opt for a better 450 or above PSU from better brands but would set U back with almost 5000/-.

U can also go for an X800 card as it permormrs more or less than a 6800GT.After 2 yrs U can sell it nd set SLI with nvidia cards.

take sata ncq seagate or sata II

also, amd 3200 winnie shd may beat 3.4ghz in games but otherwise overall compete with 2.8-3ghz in many thing sometimes may be ...less(if that is)
