Default Motherboard

I have an Intel 810 motherboard.

By default these MB's can take a maximum of 40 GB HD space. ( Thats what I have heard and am 90% sure of )

But yesterday somebody confirmed that to me , but after that he told me that if you do certain "changes" you can make it accept an 80GB HDD.

Can anybody tell me what changes these are.

Are they done in some BIOS settings or do you have to change some part on the motherboard or what......

Please do let me know.

Also what is the way to find out which motherboard is there on your system

I know of one way which is on the 1st screen ( ENERGY ) bottom left .

Any other way.

Regards

One more thing.

Will my HDD be completely detected that means there will be no loss of space.

There was no need to bump that old thread anyway deep locked it for good.

About other OS, since this HDD detect happens only in WinXP you will not be able to use ur HDD in other OS.
