Re: VFM Ups for my rig
^^ because
1. 1kVA has auto shutdown feature which lacks in 1.1kVa
2. battery rating in 1kvA is better than 1.1KVa
3. so better back up with 1kVA rather than 1.1KVAI'd explain it to you, but your brain would explode... Trust me

Re: VFM Ups for my rig
^^ In Nehru place it would be easily available. or you can try online also.. but buy only Indian version..
Laptop battery provides 3hrs backup becoz laptop consumes only a 20-80W but in desktop 200 to 800W is required depending upon the configuration.I'd explain it to you, but your brain would explode... Trust me

Re: VFM Ups for my rig
I came across this post : APC Back-UPS Pro 1000VA (BR1000G-IN) Review
UPS + Extra Battery : Gives around 2+ hr backup but costing around 7.3K + 6.3k = 13.6k (UPS alone can give MAX. 30 min backup)
But Microtek 800VA Inverter gives around 3+ hr backup on same computer + supply to other equipments at home as well ....costing around 5K + 10K = 15K
Which one is the better option for long backup : UPS or Inverter ?Phenom x6 1055T 3.36 GHz | MSI 890GXM G65 | Corsair XMS3 2*4GB 1600mhz | BenQ E2200HD | Xbox 360 Controller | Seagate 500GB | Seagate GoFlex 3.0 2TB | WD My Book Essential 3.0 1TB | CM HAF 922 | Corsair VX 550 | Logitech MX 518 | Logitech Wireless Keyboard | Sapphire 7850 OC | APC 1kVA | Razer Goliathus Control | Logitech C270H | Hyper 212EVO (Push Pull) | Asus RT N13U on DD-WRT |

Re: VFM Ups for my rig
long backup would be better in case of inverter but it cannot provide the uninterrupted power which would be the case in UPS.
using inverter is more risky for PC than UPS.
PS has a much shorter switching time than an Inverter.
Typically, changeover time in inverters is 500 milliseconds & Offline UPS has changeover time of 3-8 milliseconds.I'd explain it to you, but your brain would explode... Trust me
