Buying a 2.0 Ton Split AC
hello guys,
I need a Split AC to plug it in the room that is of 7 X 2.8m = 19.6sq metre (214sq feet) area and 10 feet high in dimension. The room is full of windows and a balcony door on one side of 7m length. So full of sunlight comes direct to the room. Also, suggest me which wall I should plug it.
The price should less than 35,000 because I can't exceed my budget. Star rating doesn't matter in my case, you know what I mean so hells yeah! for even 1 star. The main point is it should have an awesome cooling performance and decent service because last time I used Onida split AC which blow away due to poor service.Last edited by rider; 09-04-2012 at 10:29 PM.

Re: Buying a 2.0 Ton Split AC
go for Ogeneral for best performance and above average power consumption
or Hitachi for good performance and low power consumption..I'd explain it to you, but your brain would explode... Trust me

Re: Buying a 2.0 Ton Split AC
Hitachi sounds good.
Though I would suggest you the General for quiet and best performance. But it may cost above your budget and sure its worth it.Canon Powershot SX130IS
Thinkpad SL400C
Arch linux + dwm = World Domination !

Re: Suggest 2.0 Ton Split AC
alright

O-General is out of my budget
I repeat the room that is of 7 X 2.8m = 19.6sq metre (214sq feet) area and 10 feet high in dimension. The room is full of windows and a balcony door on one side of 7m length. So full of sunlight comes direct to the room. Also, suggest me which wall I should plug it.

How is Carrier 2.0ton performance in comparison to hitachi 2.0 ton ??Spoiler:

I'll advice u to go for 2 ton Hitachi, O general and Bluestar. But I think ur budget is issue. I'll recommend u to go for assemble/customize one. I'm sure it will come in your budget. And I bet u will not regret by investing on this.

Re: Buying a 2.0 Ton Split AC
Power consumption depend on the heat/temperature outside the room where outdoor unit is running. Star rating are given in standard running condition like some 2 wheeler bike claim to give 100 kmpl. But in real road condition it fail to do so. So power consumption by AC depend on some factors such as: Indoor+Outdoor temperature, room size etc. If outdoor temperature is 45 and you want AC to achieve 22º C then it will utilize Max current if it is 2 Ton AC it may consume 13 to 14 Amps in that peak time and non stop. My Windows AC was fitted in 210 Aqft room earlier and there it was taking 11-12 Amps but now I shifted it to 100 Sqft flat and I check current is 8-9 AMPS. Not much difference by star rating if you invest and dont get cooling according to you and saving only electricity. If compressor is well enough to transfer hear effieiently and quickly then it will achieve the targeted temperature much earlier and shut compressor to save electricity.
