The UL plan should really be unlimited. Some of my friends opted for the UL plan and they are charged only 750 per month. There are two possible reasons for the bill -

1) As implied by Charan, if you switched from a limited plan and started doing massive downloads before the change became effective.

Or

2) BSNL goofed. Enquire at your local BSNL office.

One thing they always 'forget' to tell is, that the new plan which you opt for, will be from the 1st of the coming month.

Actually, I think you are better off with H500 if downloading is your main priority. H500 can download double as much as H750UL can in a single month. It can download exactly as much as H1350UL can in a single month. But for the UL plans, you need to keep the internet turned on the whole month 24x7, while in H500 you just need to keep it on during the Night Time Unlimited 2AM to 8AM for 6 hours. So you save 75% electricity compared to H1350UL. And with the power crisis in India, its a good thing if you save power.

Why the BSNL hate? Remember before BSNL got us internet, we (well, not me exactly, but most of you) had to bear with crappy 64kbps sify connections. They are the only company (crappy govt company no doubt) that have provided us with more than enough of bandwidth at affordable rates.

@OP: So then what do you mean you are charged for 5GB? You haven't even received the August month bill yet.

Btw, Applications submitted after the 20th of any month will not take effect on the very next month. Standard BSNL policy.

i've tried H500, H1000 and H750UL.

As per my calc. i think i can d/load around 70GB if i keep my PC on 24x7 with the H750UL and 140-142GB in H500 and H1000 in night time and around the same with H1350UL if i keep my PC on 24x7. I was gonna get H1350 but my dad made a mistake in filleng the crappy application and im stuck with this **** which is gonna change next month .

As for keeping the PC on 24x7, i dont mind coz i used to keep it on 24x7 with H500, H1000 also i dnt mind 11-12k bills.
