Question eco-computing

Hey guyz! I think all the readers of Digit mags & this forum r directly or indirectly involved with IT. From the last few yrs we can see what the impact of IT upon our mother nature is. Energy requirement of IT is doubling worldwide every five years. At most only 12% of IT and communication equipment gets recycle.

Now the point is how IT can be used to reduce the overall ecologic impact of the economy and improve corporate citizenship and governance. Is it possible to build any eco-computer…just like eco-car or eco-building?? How to make powerful but not power monger computer?? Can Digit put some light on this…technically or functionally??

May be I sound like some activist…hehehe…but u guyz take a break & please think about this.

P.S - can moderator help me to put this thread in proper forum??

Theres something called OLED, Organic LED, and Digit had an article about it some years back. Unfortunately I stopped reading Digit so I dont know if any articles like that came out later.

How come you stopped reading digit?
I know a mod but he may not help you.

But you're right in every point. In some way, every office's IT department will have to start to recycle more. So why don't we get used and start early. It will give us more time to save the planet.
