Kolkata Help needed

I have to go to Kol on 22 nd this month as i have NIC test there and i want to do some shopping later. I dont kno much abt the place so help me . The exam is at Bidhan Nagar Govt school , bd 303, sector 1, Salt lake. . . I have to search for accommodation . . . And i want to buy mobo and ram to upgrade my pc . . . Any shop near that location . . Please give me phone no of those places if anyone has ,,. Please help me . .

Also please suggest some accomodation options . . . Last time i had been there i could not find any hotel at salt lake area . . . And had to go back to Sealdah . . . And i didnt have much idea abt shops . . . It was 2 yrs ago . . Things must have changed and complicated more by this time . . Help help !!!

@ PratikYup thats right its national info center . . . I am writing both the scientist and assistant exams . . . Are u also writing them . . . Just now i heard that there is some news abt bandh . . . Is it true. . . Thanks for replying . . . And Sourav i want to kno if the is any hotel wher i can stay for a night or two . . . And i want to buy some pc hardware too . . .

@phunchung, if you want to buy computer hardware, go to chandni market. From, saltlake, take an auto and come to ultadanga. Then, take an auto or bus to shovabajar metro station. From there you can go to chandni chowk metro station.

If you dont want to bargain too much, then try Capital Electronics at Ultadanga.
