dataone Home 500 querry

aftr much searching, i decided to go 4 home 500 dataone.but i ve sum more questns-
1. i dnt ve a landline.i want to set up da landline only 4 net,nt 4 any cals.wat shud i do n wat extra cost does IT bear?
2. wat wud da cal charge be on the fone when the net is connectd?wats da phone rental?
3. how n where to buy modem?wats da price of a decent modem?
4. n lastly, wud there b free installtn,regn charge for govt. employes? aftr da entire set up, how much will be entire monthly charge come includin landline rental bills.

i have Home 500 plan.... there are 3 options for modems. 1) rent it from BSNL 2) purchase from bsnl (costs around 1000/- INR) 3). purchase from anywhre else (entirely ur choice)

ur monthly bill will be around 500+60=560 INR including taxes...

Ya, if u pay in advance for 1 yr like me then it wud settle in rs 5000 total... (u'll save 1000 bucks)

no installation charges (atleast they didnt take anything from me when they installed at my home except for TEA )

the modem they give u (if u purchase from bsnl) will be ZTE ZXDSL 831AII (as of now they are giving this model.. this cn change in ur area)... cost- 1000 INR

i wud not suggest renting a modem from bsnl because they will give u second hand crappy model...

Call charges are not affected by internet... u can use the fone and internet simultaneously (thnks to gud quality of splitter they provide)

if u dont have a bsnl landline then u have to CHECK the option of requiring a bsnl line while filling the form...

if you don´t have bsbl landline, bsnl h500 isn´t worth it, as you need 2 pay landline rentals.
which landline do you have, if any ?

there is a home combo 500 plan in Kolkata. u get all facilities of home 500 plan with 1.5Gb UL/DL limit and 175 calls free every month with no fixed charges (rental) for telephone. Check if this is available in ur circle.

ok. i have gprs in my cel.but i dnt want to use dis 4 net.can anyone throw light m the combo plans with no rental.

also, i m hel confused with dis. if i take home 500 combo plan, then there is no rental ok, but what is the PSTN internet dial up charge? does bsnl charge any local bills when net is connectd.. long ago in 2000, bsnl charged me Rs12 per hour for the dial up net conn...is dis the same now?

Phone bill is based upon the landline plan u choose.

Net charge is separate, it will include some negligible tax too.
